Hi, I'm Karen and I created Fun Fabulous Fitness to be just that, FUN! 

I am passionate about creating classes that you will love & enjoy as much as me, which will help both your physical & mental well being.  You will feel and see the difference, whilst discovering muscles you never knew you had!!

Fitness is not just about how your body looks or your flexibility, it's how you feel inside too, that is just as, if not more important. 

Classes are all in my own personal style, lots of banter & laughter, whilst part of my cunning plan to distract you from the amount of work you are actually doing!  I choose venues that are non intimidating without mirrors, to encourage all ages, sizes, genders & abilities.  Classes are caring, sharing, warm & welcoming, with the odd social events here & there.

I took my first fitness qualification 27 years ago to become your typical Aerobics instructor (if only I had kept all those leotards!). In the beginning I taught Aerobics & Step. I then added Kick Aerobics, Zenga & Yoga. Initially I taught a couple of evening classes a week, whilst working full time in a bank. 

The industry was evolving as was my love of Yoga. My life was changing I became a Mum & left the bank which has enabled me to turn my passion into a full time Fitness & Yoga instructor. I embraced Motherhood to add Baby Yoga, Pre & post natal along with childrens fitness to my qualifications. 

I firmly believe you should enjoy what you do hence the combination of fun with fitness. Enjoyment is the key to success & sticking with it.

 CLASS 
DESCRIPTION

 Hatha Yoga Flow
Hatha Yoga Flow harmonises the physical & mental benefits of Yoga. You will feel calm, balanced whilst gaining flexibility. Creating space within the mind & body bringing together breath & movement as one. Classes end with relaxation.

 Gentle Yoga
Gentle Yoga, is practised at a slower pace, with an emphasis on winding down after a busy day. Allowing you time to relax into the poses for a deeper stretch. Incorporating candlelight & soft lighting for our relaxation at the end. 

 LBT Blast
Legs Bums & Tums Blast is a fun workout, cardio to get the blood flowing, including exercises like squats & lunges. Weights & resistance work to tone.  All guaranteed to get that heart beating & muscles aching!
Zenga  
Zenga is a blend of Yoga & Pilates. A mini stability ball is used for some flows & poses to maximise position as well as challenge. Zenga tends to flow more than being held in a static pose however is still Yoga based.
 
 Baby Yoga
Baby Yoga a mix of yoga for Mummy & baby, including action songs, relaxation & post natal health.  A great way to get back into exercising whilst strengthening those muscles & having fun.                               

 Giggle & Wiggle
Giggle & Wiggle is a cardio based workout for Mummy with your child in attendance. Children are still catered for & mummy post natal health is included throughout. Lots of fitness & fun for all.

 Step & Tone
Step & tone, a cardio based workout using an 6-10 inch step. Routines that are easy to follow with an emphasis on getting that heart rate up! Followed by some abdominal & strength exercises.
 Fitness Yoga
Fitness Yoga combines elements of traditional yoga with body conditioning. This session not only will stretch those muscles but actively condition at the same time, be prepared to get warm!

 MY YOGA JOURNEY
I  have been practising yoga for over 10 years, and teaching for 8. Like many of us, I  first came to yoga to combat stress from my job as a Commercial Manager in a bank.

From the moment I  stepped on the yoga mat, I was hooked. It wasn’t just the immediate physical impact I noticed, it was that Yoga also helped me deal with life’s challenges in a more grounded, balanced way. Yoga was body-nourishing, soul-soothing, real-life magic!

I suffered a back injury during the Queens Jubilee, Yoga helped massively in my recovery  & continues to do this for me everyday. I hasten to add I'm not medically trained & you should always consult your GP if in doubt. 

Everyday I  have the privilege of passionately sharing yoga with others who, like me, are sick of feeling less than vibrant, a little stiff with a few aches & pains. I can honestly say Yoga has changed my life. My ability to move freely is something I cherish & thank my daily Yoga practise for.

I honestly believe that Yoga is for everyone the secret is finding your own style, along with a teacher that adds value & enjoyment to your practise. My thoughts on yoga in brief :- " Yoga creates space within the mind. The Yoga breath (Pranayama) brings a sense of calm whilst nourishing the blood with oxygen. The poses (asanas) create the space within the body this brings harmony to the body & mind. Yoga truly brings a sense of well being to all."

I started going to Karen's zenga and yoga classes some 3 years ago. Although I am in receipt of my state pension, I consider myself reasonably fit and active, having been been involved in sporting activities most of my life. However, I do suffer from a heart condition, and I wanted to ensure that my muscles, especially my heart remain in the best condition possible, and that any stress and worries are minimised. I was a little reluctant intially thinking these were probably ladies classes. I need not have worried, I was made to feel most welcome, the classes are such fun, with banter, laughter, and a relaxed atmosphere. Most important the benefits to my health and wellbeing have been truly outstanding. I now feel nimble, light footed, flexible, at peace with the world, happy and relaxed. Karen is an outstanding teacher, the classes are very fluent, she encourages, supports, and makes the classes a pleasure to attend.

Fun Fabulous Fitness! And that is just what the classes are. I do 6 of Karen’s, the instructor, classes a week. I always look forward to going and never feel “that I can’t be bothered tonight” I was new to the area and knew nobody, joining the classes I now have many new friends. Everybody was welcoming and friendly. No pressure in these classes, you work at your own pace. Karen always has alternatives for moves that you may find difficult at first. I have been to many classes so much fun, you never want the class to finish. Karen is always on hand to help you and give advice. Along with the Yoga/ Zenga classes Karen runs a Legs, Bums n Tums class and a step class. Please come along and give a class a go, I promise you will not be disappointed. See you there!

I have been going to step for 10 years now and throughly enjoy it, with great work outs and drive from Karen. We have all enjoyed giggle and wiggle, my oldest calls it excercise group and wants to go most weeks. Unfortunately, it is was our last Thursday, as she's off to school and I will be at work. Karen, involves the children and encourages the adults to excercise in a fun way. Our favourite songs are shake your sillies out, head shoulders knees and toes, dingle dangle scarecrow and of course baby shark. Thank you Karen for being so motivational.

FAQ's 
What are your business hours?
As a general rule I am contactable during 9am - 7pm Monday to Friday, except when I am teaching classes or doing the school run! Please refer to the timetable for class times.

What type of payment methods do you accept? 
I accept online bank payments or paypal. Cash can be paid at class for the following week. 

What do I wear?
For Cardio classes you will need a pair of trainers, everything else is barefeet or Yoga socks. Clothing that is easy to move in, Leggings & T-shirt will be perfect.

Do I require my own Mat?
Yes all classes you will need your own mat.

I'm not very fit or flexible will that matter?
No not at all. We all have to start somewhere. All classes are modified for you to take at your own pace. A Yoga quote "its not about touching your toes its what we learn along the way" I encourage you to work at your own level.

Am I too old? 
I have a huge range across my classes, My PARQ will cover up to age 69. Over this age if you are in good health & have checked with your GP that you are ok to participate I have no concerns.

I have a few medical issues will that make a difference?
I will ask you to complete a PARQ (Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire) before commencing classes with Fun Fabulous Fitness. This will give an indication of your general health,  however if you have any concerns please speak to your GP BEFORE attending class.

Do I need to book?
Yes all classes need to be pre booked. No drop ins. To book classes please call/text/whats app me 07957440333.

What is your cancellation Policy?
12 hours notice of non attendance for your payment to be transferable. No refunds are offered. 


Covid enhanements
My priority is to keep you as safe as possible. Prior to re-opening the classes I have implemented a number of changes, which I would like to make you aware of. I have carried out a risk assessment on all sessions, making adaptions in accordance with current guidelines and I am confident that I can continue to provide these safely.

Hygiene & Class Safety:

• Hand washing before & after class, then drying using either the dryers or your own towel.
• Anti-Bac Hand Sanitizer in addition to hand washing is available
• Social distancing to be maintained
• We have increased the frequency of cleaning in the hall including making sure that common surfaces, toilets      door handles etc. are wiped clean using disinfectant.

You:

• Your health and wellbeing has always been and will continue to be my priority. However I ask that if you or        someone within your household show signs or symptoms of Covid 19 that you cancel your session and follow        the NHS / Public Health England and Government guidance to keep you, your family and your Fun Fabulous          Fitness Family as safe as is possible.
• You are encouraged to keep your distance & wash your hands reguarly.

Booking Classes, availability & attendance:

• Class numbers will be reduced during this period, so pre-booking & pre payment are compulsory.  No drop ins.
• You will be permitted entry to classes 5 mins only pre-start time.

Zoom options are still available on some classes if you wish to workout from home, please see the timetable.

Cancellation Policy:

• Minimum of 12 hours notice for transfer to another session. If you cancel within the 12 hours, or do not attend        you will lose your payment. 
• Text message, telephone call or whats app messages to notify me. Please do not send messages on FB as this       is not the most reliable system. 

Information is constantly changing and evolving, please be aware that all of the information listed above is subject to change, but I will do my part to keep you in-the-know. I am doing all that I reasonably can to minimise risk to all of us. As always, if you have any questions or concerns I am here for you! I really appreciate your support throughout all of this.

Pay as you Go

Each class is £5 whether in person or online.
Payment is required in advance of session to confirm your place.
Payment can be made online, 777225 33610960 MRS K GROVES. Paypal upon request. 
No refunds.
Transfer to another session if I cancel the session a credit will be made for another session.
Cancellation minimum 12 hours notice any shorter time scale than this will result in loss of funds.
